An exquisite orange 2007 Lamborghini
Gallardo Superleggera, the first Italian
sportscar of its kind to arrive in the United
States, was among several Lamborghinis
stretched out inside the Somerset
Collection in Troy — the centerpieces for
a "Martinis & Lamborghinis" party and
fundraiser benefiting the Detroit chap-
ter of Variety, The Children's Charity,
serving children with special needs in
Metro Detroit. "It's a 205-mile-an-hour,
$240,000, limited-series super car," said
Matthew Vazana, general sales man-
ager of Lamborghini Troy. More than
500 guests mingled around the car, enjoy-
ing food, dancing, entertainment and, of
course, martinis. "For dessert, we served
fresh-baked cookies and milk shoot-
ers," said Tony Fayne of Capital Event
Productions, the event organizer. "It was
a great night, for a great cause."
