DAVID A.
APPELMAN, 62, of
Oak Park, died May
26, 2007.
He was a clinical
social worker for the
Multiple Sclerosis
Society and had
Appelman
taught in the Berkley
School System for
several years. An accomplished guitar-
ist, he was also an avid bowler, golfer
and a contract bridge player.
Mr. Appelman is survived by his
brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and
Jennifer Appelman of West Bloomfield;
nieces and nephews, Michael Appelman,
Elissa and Tony Scigliano, Jason and
Victoria Appelman and Max Appelman;
great-niece and great-nephew, Adilyne
and Jackson Appelman; aunts and an
uncle, Blanche Siegal, Doris Gerchikov,
Fred and Marilyn Appelman.
He was the beloved son of the
late Rhea and the late Dr. Howard B.
Appelman.
Interment at Clover Hill Park
Cemetery. Contributions may be made
to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of
Michigan, 21311 Civic Center Drive,
Southfield, MI 48076. Arrangements
by Ira Kaufman Chapel.

ALBERT DRASIN,
90, of Grand Rapids,
died May 16, 2007.
In the late 1950s,
he organized and
served as an adviser
to the Grand Rapids
USY Chapter. He
Drasin
was a retired 35
year-member of the
Grand Rapids Shubert Male Chorus
Club. Mr. Drasin was self-employed
during his working days in Grand
Rapids in the auto supply business.
He is survived by his children, Gary
and Antonia Drasin of Commerce
Township, Meredith Brody of Byron
Ctr.; grandchildren, Mark and Brenda
Brody of Ludington, Michael Brody of
Pleasant Ridge, Amy and Steve Klein
of West Bloomfield, Lindsey Drasin of
Farmington Hills; great-grandchildren,
Mitchel and Jacob Brody, Joshua Klein.
He was preceded in death by his
wife, Jennie Drasin.
Graveside services were held
at the Ahavas Israel Cemetery in
Grand Rapids. Arrangements by Alt-
Shawmut Chapel.

SYLVIA ELLISH-RUBIN, 87, of
Southfield, died May 22, 2007.
She was born to Albert and Fannie
Ellish, emigres from Poland, in Detroit
on June 28, 1919. Being a child of the
Depression, she started working at an

early age to help the family financially.
One of her special moments was when
she was able to put enough away so that
her youngest sister would have a new,
warm winter coat to go to school in.
She worked her adult life in retail
sales primarily in women's clothing at
Lane Bryant. It was during her retire-
ment that her dream of owning her
own home came true.
Mrs. Ellish-Rubin is survived by her
son, Albert W. Rubin of Southfield.

ADELAINE "ADM' GELMAN, 83, of
Tamarac, Fla., died May 23, 2007.
She is survived by her daughters
and son-in-law, Myrna and Mickey
Shanker of West Bloomfield, Anita

and sister-in-law, Clyde and Bethany
Mehr of Howell; grandchildren, Wendy
Shanker, Josh Shanker.
She was the beloved wife of the late
Gus Gelman.

of the late Raymond Gendelman; proud
grandmother of the late Julie Dolan.
