In her presentation, Silber, an antique quilt authority, tells how it became her mission and passion to address this aspect of Holocaust his- tory — where 10,000 children were evacuated to England from Germany and Czechoslovakia. Using slides of the quilt blocks sent to her by the children of the Kindertransport, she relates the stories of their families' courage, sacrifice and bravery — the quilts tell the saga in the words of the child survivors. Copies of the book Kindertransport Memory Quilt, con- taining full color photos and narra- tives of the children, will be avail- able for purchase following Silber's presentation.
