The American Lung Association of
Michigan has added new staff mem-
bers: Susan Schechter of Bloomfield
Hills is the new program and advocacy
manager. Heidi Press of Oak Park is
the new communications manager.

Honigman Miller Schwartz and
Cohn LLP opened a new office in Ann
Arbor, in the historic Allmendinger
Building, 130 S. First Street. Honigman

Robert D. Kaplow, a shareholder in

has become a community partner of

Dr. Michael E. Maddens has been
appointed chief, Department of
Internal Medicine at Beaumont
Hospital in Royal Oak. He joined
Beaumont in 1988 as director of the
division of geriatric medicine and
program director of the geriatric fel-
lowship.

Retiring Wayne State University
Law School Professor Frederica K.
Lombard of Grosse Pointe will be
made law professor emerita. Lombard,
who joined the school in 1966, was
its first female faculty member. She
served as associate dean, 1992-2005,
and as interim dean, 2003-2004.

Robert Raitt of West Bloomfield has
been elected as the president of the
Michigan Association of Justice (for-
merly known as the Michigan Trial
Lawyers Association). He is a partner
