all of the people I have met along
the way who are the bravest people
I have ever met. The patients. The
survivors. The friends and families
of those who are going through this
or have lost loved ones to this ter-
rible disease. I also cannot forget
about the hundreds of nameless
faces I have seen over the years
during my own treatments."
Part of what keeps Buckfire
going is "my amazing support sys-
tem',' she said. "My husband, Dan,
my family and friends all helped
with fundraising." And the dona-
tions came from friends of friends
of friends. "Some came from peo-
ple I don't even know," she said.
"Relay for Life is an amazing
event; full of love, emotion and
support. We need all of the resourc-
es we have in the fight against can-
cer. It is overwhelming when facing
this alone, but working together we
can and will make a difference." II
