the second year of her two-
year term as president of the
Greater Detroit Chapter of Hadassah
on May 15 at an installation dinner
at Tam O'Shanter Country Club, West
Bloomfield.
The installing officer, Annette
Meskin, utilized the imagery of the
Jerusalem Gates in an inspiring pro-
gram.
Beverly Fine was installed as presi-
dent-elect. Vice presidents installed
include Sherrie Stern, communica-
tions and marketing; Shirley Robbins,
community service; Meredith Weston-

Band, education; Francine Hack, fund-
raising; Joan C. Epstein, membership;
Nancy Bechek Bluth, organization;
Cathy Slavik, programming. Renee
May was installed as treasurer and
Beth Hirsch as recording secretary.
Members-at-large are Kimberlee Levy
and Susan Luria.
The "Love of a Lifetime" award
was given to the Hadassah Headlines
editorial staff: Marcia Bednarsh, Sonja
Kass, Evelyn Paxton, Shirley Robbins
and Lori Strager. Cathy Slavik was
honored as "Woman of the Year:'
Elaine Sturman received the "National
Leadership Award." II

Temple Honors Youth
Temple Beth El honored its high
school graduates at a Shabbat service
written and led by the students on
May 11. In honor of their graduation
from the Bloomfield Township syna-
gogue religious school, this year's class
collected and donated 87 pounds of
food to Yad Ezra in Berkley.
