For his mitzvah project, he held a book drive, delivered and read books to pre-kinder- garten students at Stewart Elementary School in Detroit. She felt raising funds for the Juvenile Diabetes Association was her most significant mitzvah project. Ashley Fixler (Racheal Leah) of White Lake will become bat mitzvah at Adat Shalom Synagogue on Saturday, May 26. Participating in the ceremony will be parents, Jerry and Debbbie Fixler, and sister Alexis Zimberg. Proud grandpar- ents are Madge Pollak and Morris and Lillian Fixler, all of West Bloomfield. He is the son of Catherine Mutnick and Gary Mutnick and the brother of Leah. His grandparents are Sally and Erwin Mutnick and Violet and Dr. Stephen Kocsis. Matthew is a student at Orchard Lake Middle School in West Bloomfield. He felt it was very meaningful to donate to Yad Ezra in Berkley as a mitzvah project. Matthew Benjamin Rein (Benyamin) became a bar mitzvah Saturday, May 12, at Temple Shir Shalom. He is the son of Stacie and Jeff Rein and brother of Allison. Rein Sharing in the simchah were his grandparents Herbert Goodwin and Sy and Norma Rein. Matthew is also the grandson of the late Barbara Goodwin. Matthew is a seventh-grader at West Hills Middle School in Bloomfield Hills. For his mitzvah project, he helped out at the Capuchin Soup Kitchen in Detroit.
