Lastest Cancer Treatments

Cancer care continues to be
advanced through research. Learn
where researchers are regarding
the development of new treatments.
Dr. Philip Beron, a radiation oncol-
ogist at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center
in Los Angeles, will discuss new
treatments including intensity modulated therapy and image-
guided radiation for prostate cancer and other malignancies.
He'll appear 6:30-8 p.m., Monday, May 7, at the
Karmanos Cancer Institute's Weisberg Cancer Center, 31995
Northwestern Highway, Farmington Hills.
The presentation is part of the institute's Survivorship
University series of free lectures open to the community.

Safety Camp Planned
Gan Shalom Preschool at
Congregation Beth Shalom will
host a Safety City Camp June 25-
29 for children 31/2 to 5 years.
Camp will be taught by certi-
fied teacher Laurie Allmacher
from Franklin Kids Sports.
Through games, songs, projects
and play it will introduce neigh-
borhood, home, fire, bicycle,
animal and car safety awareness.

A Lag b'Omer event arranged by
students of Yeshivas Lubavitch
will be 1:30-4:30 p.m. Sunday, May

The entertainment show is free;
the carnival will cost $4 a person,
and refreshments will be sold.
The program includes recital
of Torah passages by children,
a prayer and an entertainment
