A true book lover's paradise, Bookstock has tens of thousands of donated used books (including Judaica), DVDs, CDs, books on tape, magazines and records for sale at bargain basement prices. Sale hours are noon-6 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Saturday. Free. Books will be sold for half-price on May 6. In four years, Bookstock has raised more than $200,000 for literacy and education programs throughout Oakland County and Detroit. More than 700 volunteers help make the event happen. The sale is sponsored by the Detroit Jewish Coalition for Literacy, the Oakland Literacy Council, the Detroit Jewish News, Schostak Brothers and Company, and a con- sortium of Jewish communal non- profit organizations that support education and literacy.
