ess Siegel, 94, of Laguna
Woods, Calif., formerly of
Michigan, died April 14,

2007.
She was a feminist,
psychologist, violin-
ist and beloved wife,
mother and grand-
mother. She had led
rich and full life.
Born in Detroit to
Russian immigrant
Jews, she showed
early and obvious
Bess Siegel
musical gifts, which
garnered her an invitation to per-
form at Carnegie Hall. The family's
need for all to work precluded
her from pursuing this career.
Nonetheless, she continued her for-
mal education and was very involved
in radical politics of the times.
She met and married Boaz Siegel,
and they forged a partnership that
would last 67 years. Her husband
became one of the most honored
labor attorneys in Michigan history
and she became a successful psy-
chologist who practiced from 1960
through the 1980s.

DR. LOUIS "THE
DOC" GORZECK,

82, of Cooper City,
Fla., formerly of
Detroit, died April
19, 2007. He was a
dentist for 22 years
in Michigan and 28
Gorzeck
years in Florida.
Dr. Gorzeck
worked on the fluoride trials in dental
school. He was a World War II veteran.
Also, he was a lifetime member of the
American Dental Association and vol-
unteered at Jackson Memorial, helping
children and indigents. Dr. Gorzeck
was a member of Alpha Omega.
He is survived by his wife, Iris
Gorzeck of Cooper City; daughters
and a son-in-law, Sandra and Dr.
David Gunsberg and Judi Wilcox;
son, Michael Gorzeck; grandchildren,
Brian, Jonathon and Daniel Gunsberg
and Addison Gorzeck.
Interment at Machpelah Cemetery.

Their children, Paula and Joel,
pursued careers in health care and
the arts. The Siegels were also
founding members of the
Jewish Parents Institute
and significant mem-
bers of the Society for
Humanistic Judaism.
Mrs. Siegel's intel-
ligence, fierce indepen-
dence, warmth, wit and
creativity were hallmarks
of her life. She is acutely
missed and will be deep-
ly remembered.
She is survived by her brother,
Max Bunin; her children, Paula and
Joel; granddaughter, Nicole; daugh-
ter-in-law, Mary Elizabeth Jordan;
many other relatives, loving friends
and former colleagues.
A graveside service will be held
at Adat Shalom Memorial Park
on Tuesday, May 8, at 11 a.m. A
luncheon will follow at 12:30 p.m.
at Zinc restaurant, 6745 Orchard

DR. SAMUEL
GOSS, 99, of

Southfield, died April
22, 2007.
An internist, Dr.
Goss was a World
War II veteran and
was stationed in
Goss
New Guinea. He was
a member of the
Shriners, the Southfield Rotary Club
and Jewish War Veterans.
Dr. Goss is survived by grandchil-
dren, Allan and Ellie Bittker, Sheryl
Bittker; great-grandchildren, Jason,
Susie, Matthew, Elana and Justin
Bittker; son-in-law, Jack Silverman;
Elsie Bronson.
Dr. Goss was the beloved husband of
the late Ruth Goss; devoted father of
the late Rosalind Silverman; cherished
son of the late Mary and the late Peter
Goss; dear brother of the late Bluma,
the late Clara, the late Anne and the
late Bertha.
Interment at Adat Shalom Memorial
