Walk Byron and Dorothy Gerson models, especially for their closeness with each other and for being so welcoming across generations. Past presidents filled nearly one full table at the event. Dr. Shlomo Mor-Yosef, direc- tor general of Hadassah Medical Organization, was in Detroit six months ago to talk about the project and fundraise. Now he was back to thank the Davidsons. "It is a huge commitment when someone thinks an organization is so important that he wants to share his life with you to move the organization ahead;' said Mor-Yosef. "You don't want to let him down. I really mean it. My commitment is to excellence. "This is an important project for the future of Israel and Jerusalem — a state-of-the-art, first-class medical center that serves everybody, Jews and Muslims, Arabs and Israelis, and they pay nothing." Jonathan Aaron, the Davidsons' son-in-law, represented the fam- ily and its business, Guardian Industries, at the laying of the tower cornerstone in Jerusalem in March. Now he stood in for Davidson again. "Karen is right about him being an overachiever," Aaron joked. "I had to get to the lunch, and he's at home, working to ensure the check cashed."
