Dr. Shlomo Mor-Yosef, direc-
tor general of Hadassah Medical
Organization, was in Detroit six
months ago to talk about the project
and fundraise. Now he was back to
thank the Davidsons.
"It is a huge commitment when
someone thinks an organization is so
important that he wants to share his
life with you to move the organization
ahead;' said Mor-Yosef. "You don't
want to let him down. I really mean it.
My commitment is to excellence.
"This is an important project for
the future of Israel and Jerusalem —
a state-of-the-art, first-class medical
center that serves everybody, Jews
and Muslims, Arabs and Israelis, and
they pay nothing."
Jonathan Aaron, the Davidsons'
son-in-law, represented the fam-
ily and its business, Guardian
Industries, at the laying of the tower
cornerstone in Jerusalem in March.
Now he stood in for Davidson again.
"Karen is right about him being an
overachiever," Aaron joked. "I had to get
to the lunch, and he's at home, working
to ensure the check cashed." I I

Kitchen Design Fundraiser
The National Council of Jewish
Women Greater Detroit Section will
host "Captivating Kitchens:' a fund-
raising event for community service
projects.
The patron event, "Delightful
Diversions:' will be 7 p.m. Monday,
May 14, at Designs Unlimited
Showroom, 301 N. Old Woodward,
Birmingham. It will include wine
tasting, food and a live and a silent
auction.
A kitchen tour will be 11 a.m.-3
p.m. Tuesday, May 15. Innovative
kitchens in private homes will
showcase the work of local kitchen
designers.
Patron event tickets are $125 per
person and include a kitchen tour
ticket. Junior patron tickets for
guests 35 and younger are $75. Tour
only tickets are $35 in advance and
$40 at the door.
The overall event is chaired by
Abbey Brasch Nathan and Shayna
Silverman. The patron event is
chaired by Nancy Josephson and Jain
Lauter.

Women Light The Way
The Jewish Women's Foundation
of Metropolitan Detroit will host
its bi-annual Women Lighting The
Way luncheon with keynote speaker
Karenna Gore Schiff noon Thursday,
May 31, at Knollwood Country Club,
West Bloomfield.
Author of Lighting the Way: Nine
Women Who Influenced Modern
America, Schiff is the daughter of
Al Gore. She has written articles
for numerous magazines. Her book
profiles nine courageous women
who combatted social injustice and
changed the course of events in
America.
Cost of the luncheon is $100 per
person, with proceeds to benefit
the work of the Jewish Women's
Foundation. Reservations are
