ALICE STEIN, 80,

of West Bloomfield,
died April 3, 2007. A
residential real estate
agent for 20 years, Mrs.
Stein was a member of
Congregation Shaarey
Zedek
and the Yiddish
Stein
Club.
She is survived by her husband, Dr.
Harvey Stein of West Bloomfield; chil-
dren, Robert and Janet Stein of Cypress,
Texas, Marcia Stein of Santa Cruz, Calif.,
Dr. Kenneth and Shari Stein of West
Bloomfield, Dr. Lawrence and Kristina
Stein of Red Bud, Ill.; grandchildren,
Donald, Mara, Hannah, Samantha,
Jonathan, Adam, Olivia and John.
She was the cherished sister of the
late Edith Baron; loving daughter of the
late Sarah and the late William Stein;
wife of the late Donald Schiff.
Interment at Clover Hill Park
Cemetery. Contributions may be made to
a charity of one's choice. Arrangements
by Ira Kaufman Chapel.

JANIS WARREN, 60,

of Farmington Hills,
died April 8, 2007.
A CPA, Mrs. Warren
received a bachelor
of arts in education
from Michigan State
and continued with
Warren
accounting at Walsh
College. She taught for three years.
A secretary and active member of the
sisterhood board of Temple Beth El, she
also participated in the children's choir
and then the adult choir at temple. She
was a lifetime member of Hadassah
as well as a supporter and member of
Parents and Friends of Lesbians and
Gays, Michigan Jewish AIDS Coalition
and LAMBDA. She was active with
the Triangle Foundation, Inclusivity
Committee at Temple Beth El and
Human Rights Campaign. In addition,
she was a persistent participant in the
Jewish Community Center Health Club
program.
Mrs. Warren is survived by her
husband of 38 years, Larry Warren of
Farmington Hills; children, Dr. Michael

Warren of New York City, Jeffrey Warren
of Farmington Hills, Stephanie and
Daniel Harold of West Bloomfield;
grandchildren, Ryan Emanuel Harold;
mother, Sylvia Baker; brothers, Richard
and Steven Baker; aunt and uncle, Iris
and Glenn Goldstrom.
She was the beloved daughter of the
late Emanuel Baker; cherished daughter-
in-law of the late Martha and the late
Julius Wurm.
Interment at Beth El Memorial Park.

JOSEPH WEINMAN, 86, of

Farmington Hills, died April 2, 2007.
He was partner at Murray Lighting, a
manufacturer of commercial lighting.
He was also a past commander of the
Jewish War Veterans Post 135, a volun-
teer at Huron Valley Hospital and an avid
campaigner for Kerry-Edwards 2004
campaign.

Mr. Weinman is survived by his wife,
Anne Weinman; daughter and son-in-
law, Kathy Weinman and Cameron Kerry
of Massachusets; son and daughter-in-
law, Dr. Michael and Judy Weinman of
Massachusetts; grandchildren, Jessica
and Laura Kerry, Daniel Weinman;
brothers and sisters-in-law, Hy and
Beverly Weinman of Oak Park, William
and Carole Weinman of California; sister
and brother-in-law, Yetta "Sunny" and
Marshall Varner of California.
He was the beloved son of the late
Morris and the late Ida Weinman; loving
son-in-law of the late Jack W. and the
late Esther Kaufman; dear brother-in-
law of the late Dr. Morrey M. Kaufman.
Interment at Machpelah Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to the
University of Michigan Cancer Center,
Lymphoma Program. Arrangements by
Ira Kaufman Chapel.
