2007-2008 SLATE

The Women's Campaign & Education Department is proud to announce its Slate of Officers and Board members who will be elected and installed at the 61st Annual Meeting, The meeting
is scheduled for Monday, May 14, 2007, at 10 a.m. at Congregation Shaarey Zedek. All women in the community are invited to participate. If you would like to attend, please call the

In accordance with the Federation's Women's Campaign & Education Department Bylaws, Article IX, Sections 1 - 3:

Section 'I : Elections shall take place at the Annual Meeting of the Women's Department membership.

Section 2: Notification of the Annual Meeting shall include the slate to be presented for election. The slate shall also be made a matter of public notice to the membership at least thirty
(30) days prior to the date of the Annual Meeting.

Section 3: Additional nominations may be made by petition, signed by twenty-five (25) members of Women's Department and submitted at least one (1) week prior to the Annual Meeting,
provided that such nominees have consented to serve if elected.

Additionally, at the May 14 meeting, the membership will be asked to amend Articles I and II of the Bylaws, dated May 18, 2006, as follows:

Article I: Name
The name of the organization shall be Women's Department of the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit.

Article II: Mission

The Women's Department of the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit connects and involves women throughout the community in the work of
Federation. Women's Department plays a key role in raising funds for Federation to meet Jewish needs locally, in Israel, and around the world.
Through educational programming, multiple volunteer opportunities and fundraising initiatives, the Women's Department empowers women,
strengthens Jewish identity and promotes the values of Tzedakah and Tikkun Olam.
