Mr. Ash was founder of Ash Gear in Michigan and was a 33rd-degree Shriner. He moved to Florida in his later years and was well known in the real estate community. Mr. Ash was an avid long distance swimmer. He loved to play the viola and entertain at community events. He was a kind, loving man who was loved and respected by all. Mr. Ash is survived by his wife, Ruth Ash; children, Hy (Ellen) Ash, Rebecca (Clayton) Jerris; grandchildren, Bradley Jerris, Shayna (Andy) Weitz, Aaron Ash, Annie (Ryan) McLennon, Brittany Ash; great-grandchildren, Benjamin Jerris, Chloe Weitz, Cameryn Weitz, Emily Jerris, Carly Weitz. Services were held at Century Pines Jewish Center in Pembroke Pines. Contributions may be made to the Association for Retarded Citizens or a charity of one's choice. Arrangements by Menorah Gardens and Funeral Chapels. DR. GEORGE CHARNAS, 94, of Southfield, died March 29, 2007. Dr. Charnas was a dentist who was in the first graduating class at the University of Detroit School of Dentistry. He was also a member of B'nai B'rith, Alpha Omega and the Zionist Organization of America. Dr. Charnas is survived by his daugh- ter and son-in-law, Maxine and Alan Friedman of Missouri; son and daugh- ter-in-law, Dr. Dale and Bobbi Charnas of Farmington Hills; grandchildren, Erica and Bryce Facktor, Craig and Laura Charnas, Jason Charnas, Jodi Charnas, Emily Friedman, Scott Friedman; and great-granddaughter, Madison Charnas. He was the beloved husband of the late Mildred Charnas; dear brother of the late Esther Charnas and the late Dr. Sidney Charnas. Interment at Beth El Memorial Park. Eisenshtadt and son of the late Phillip and the late Anna Eisenshtadt. Also survived by many cousins, other family members and numerous friends. Interment at Clover Hill Park Cemetery.
