Passover continues through sun-

"Passover," President Bush conclud-

Katzav's Charges

Jerusalem/JTA
Evidence of a sec-
ond rape reportedly came to light
against Israeli President Moshe
Katsay. Attorney General Menahem
Mazuz added another charge Sunday
to Katsav's indictment draft following
a police investigation of the president,
who has been suspended.
According to the new charges,
Katsav raped an employee in the
Tourism Ministry nine years ago
when he held a ministerial posi-
tion there. The alleged victim was
hospitalized and had to undergo
surgical procedures, according to
Army Radio. The woman, who until
now had revealed the incident only
to two close friends, decided to show
her medical documents to police
investigators, the radio reported.
Katsav's attorney, Zion Amir, said it

Baseball Lore

Boca Raton/JTA
Lou Limmer, a
first baseman for the Philadelphia
Athletics in the early 1950s who was
involved in a piece of Jewish baseball
lore, died Sunday at age 82.
In a game in Detroit on May 2,
1951, Limmer was a pinch-hitter
in the only known time in baseball
history when a Jewish batter faced a
Jewish pitcher with a Jewish catcher.
The pitcher was Saul Rogovin and the
catcher was Joe Ginsberg.
"Rogovin throws the first pitch, and
I hit it into the stands, and [umpire
Joe] Paparella says, `I guess you're the
winner, Lou:" Limmer recalled of the
incident.
Limmer appeared in a total of 209
games in the 1951 and 1954 seasons,
batting .202 with 19 homers and 62
RBIs.
He later served five years as presi-
dent of his synagogue, the Castle Hill
Jewish Community Center in
his native Bronx, N.Y.

Iran: Annihilate Israel

Tehren/JTA
Carrying banners with
a call to "finally wipe Israel from the
face of the Earth:' hard-line Islamist
students pelted the British Embassy
in Tehran with firecrackers and a
smoke grenade. On Monday, more
than 150 students demanded an apol-
ogy from Britain and the closure of
the mission following Iran's detention
of 15 British sailors and marines in
the northern Persian Gulf. Shouting
slogans such as "Death to Britain,

the students attempted to scale the
embassy walls and pull down the flag
but were rebuffed by riot police.
