She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Dr. Marvin Adler of Beverly Hills; sons and daughters- Adler in-law, Dr. Donald and Libby Adler, Dr. John and Marlene Adler; daughter, Dr. Corrine Adler; grandchildren, Aaron, Matthew, Daniel and David Adler; brothers and sisters- in-law, Louis and Bea Sulzer, Bill and Thelma Sulzer; sister, Delores Moed. She was the beloved sister of the late David Sulzer and the late Perry Sulzer. Interment at Oakview Cemetery. She was born on Dec. 27, 1909, to Isadore and Lottie Katzman. She moved to Springfield, Mass., in 1949. She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Judie and Norman Blumeno, Ruthe Goldstein, all of West Bloomfield, Lisa and Mark Koslow of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., Michael Rappaport and his companion, Elizabeth Swiercz of Longmeadow, Mass., Jules and Suzi Rappaport of West Bloomfield; many grand- nieces and nephews; friend, Louise DeBarros. ALFRED BLEIER, 91, of former Detroiter of Laguna Woods, Calif , died March 20, 2007. He was a graduate of what is now the Wayne State University School of Medicine and practiced medicine in Detroit for over 30 years. He and his family were members of Congregation Shaarey Zedek. Dr. Bleier is survived by his chil- dren, Karen Bleier Tobisman of Pacific Palisades, Calif, Elizabeth A. Bleier of Oxnard, Calif, Dr. Joel G. Bleier of Winchester, Mass; seven_ grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.1 He was the husband of the late Gertrude Bleier. DONALD L. BURKE, of Mayville, Mich., died March 17, 2007. He was an outstanding teacher and taught in the Detroit public schools for 31 years, at Condon Junior High and at Northwestern High School. He received the Teacher-Scholar Award for Michigan from former President Bush. Mr. Burke was a member of Temple Israel in Bay City. He loved Israel and lived on Kibbutz Hefzibah for five years. In 2006, he earned his doctorate in history and recently completed a book chronicling the story of his wife's par- ents, who hid many Jewish families in their home in the Netherlands during the Holocaust. Professor Burke is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Antje Kooistra; daughter, Naomi Burke; son, Aaron Burke; daughter and son-in- law, SaraBina and Norman Rautiola; grandson, Ari Rautiola; brothers, Marvin Burke and Lee Burke.
