Arthritic Kids
Take Plunge

T

he Arthritis Foundation
Michigan Chapter has
launched an Aquatic
Program for Juvenile Arthritis.
It will include warm water exer-
cises to increase flexibility and
range of motion, strengthening
exercises and aerobic endurance
exercises.
As the program is targeted to
children and teens, the exercises
include pool games and activi-
ties that use water buoyancy to
relieve stress on painful joints
and water resistance to build
strength.
The Arthritis Foundation
Michigan Chapter has planned
three community kick-offs for its
aquatic program. A pool party for
children and teens with arthritis
and their families will be held
11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, April
14, at Prescription Fitness, 5210
Highland Rd., Waterford. Pizza
and refreshments will be served.
The event is free. To register, call
the foundation at (800) 968-3030.
For other programs or to be
added to a mailing list, contact
the Arthritis Foundation, (800)
968-3030 or www.arthritis.org .
