celebrate its 25th anniversary with "The
Jewish History Detective Series." The
first installment, free and open to the
public, is a lecture about an all-Jewish
chapter of a fraternal organization
that existed in Detroit around 1916:
"Cherokee Tribe No.1: The First and
Only Jewish Tribe of the Improved Order
of Red Men." Temple archivist Jan Durecki will speak at 7 p.m.

Nominate A Caring Cancer Survivor

Nominations are being accepted for a cancer survi-
vor to receive the first annual Patricia Milner Sachs
Heart of a Survivor Award. It will be presented at
the Karmanos Cancer Institute's Celebration of
Survivorship June 21 at Shriners Auditorium in
Southfield. Nominees are those who have demon-
strated great compassion, caring and support for fel-
low cancer patients. There will be one winner, but all nominees
will have their names included in a tribute song at the event.
