2007.
She is survived by her husband, Murray

Robinson Bloom of Needham, Mass.,
David and Diane Bloom of Chelsea, Steven

MARION STEIN, 87 of West
Bloomfield, died March 14, 2007. She
was president and CEO of Benjamin H.
Stein, O.D.
Mrs. Stein is survived by her daughter
and son-in-law, Holly and David Scholder
of Santa Monica, Calif.; sons and a daugh-

ter-in-law, Dr. Stuart
Stein and Danielle
Smith of Beverly Hills,
Robert Stein of West
Bloomfield; grand-
children, Holden and
Elena Stein; brother and
sister-in-law, Jerry and
Stein
Carmen Pepper of New
Orleans. She was the
beloved wife of the late Dr. Benjamin H.
Stein.
Interment at Beth El Memorial Park.

Kaufman Chapel.

JANIS WAXENBERG,
81, of Huntington
Woods, died March 13,
2007. She was a teacher
and counselor in the Oak
Park school system for
15 years in both capaci-
ties. She was active in
Waxenberg
the Institute for Retired
Professionals as a vice
president. As a member and presenter of

Society of Active Retirees at Wayne State
University, she taught citizenship classes
there for incoming immigrants and also
at Circle of Friends at Congregation Beth
Shalom.
Mrs. Waxenberg graduated from Central
High School in 1943 and received an
undergraduate degree at University of
Michigan. She went on to receive master's
degrees in education and counseling from
Wayne State University. She was very
active at Congregation Beth Shalom.
Upon retirement, Mrs. Waxenberg con-
tinued teaching various groups, includ-
ing Adult Learning Institute at Oakland
Community College.
She is survived by her husband, David
Hoptman of Huntington Woods; daugh-
ter and son-in-law, Abby Waxenberg and
Frank Kelly; son and daughter-in-law,
Benjamin and Vicki Waxenberg of Oak
Park; grandchildren, Rivky, Shmuel,
Moshe, Devora and Miriam Waxenberg;
brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Paul and
Barbara Goodman of Huntington Woods;
sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Helen
and Leopold Green; Matthew and Marla
Hoptman, Maya Hoptman and Chris

Kaltwasser and Afi Hoptman. She was
the beloved mother of the late Miriam
Waxenberg.
Interment at Adat Shalom Memorial
Park. Contributions may be made to

NATHAN WELTMAN, 91, of Grand
Blanc, died March 10, 2007.
He is survived by his daughters and
sons-in-law, Karen Kreutzer of Whitmore
Lake, Jan and Andy Murphy of Austin,
Texas, Patty and Barry Kideckel of West
Bloomfield; eight grandchildren; four
great-grandchildren. He was the beloved
husband of the late Gladys Weltman.
