Sometimes, though, the best party venue is right before your eyes
and literally underfoot. A big proponent of opening your home
to family and friends is West Bloomfield Stage Deli owner Steve
Goldberg. He is no stranger to the house as party venue. In fact,
he grew up in a household where parties in the yard were common
occurrences.
"Orchestrating a good party involves bringing elements together ...
venue being one of them;' Goldberg explains. Besides, with so many
people investing time and money to create comfortable living spaces,
it's only natural to want to extend a hearty welcome every now and then.
One man took Goldberg's advice when he hosted a 40th birthday
party for his wife last summer at their residence. Specifically, it was
a Jacuzzi party, and Goldberg says the water element "helped loosen
everyone up and [provided] great sociability ... it immediately put
[the 40 guests] at ease."
And that, Goldberg says, is what a party is all about. Well, that and
the food. To which he advises that "the food look great and amuse
the mouth," while also being easy to eat.
So with that in mind Goldberg developed the "Taste of the Stage"
menu featuring miniature versions of the deli's popular sandwiches
and sweet treats. Even the Stage's famous Beltaire salad can be had
in one-bite bites, served on a crisp miniature pastry shell.
Fun venue. Great food. Good friends. When you have all three,
Goldberg says, you'll "create a memorable experience."
