Enter Laughing

It is said that laughter is the best med-
icine. So when considering the state of
Michigan's economy and its effect on
the state's workforce, you may want to
check out the Second City, currently
presenting its 29th revue, Michigan
Impossible: All Laid Off & No
Place to Go. Directed by Shari Hollett,

it reflects the turmoil of living in one
of the nation's worst economies.
Musical director for the show is
Mark Levenson, who helped bring
Second City to Motown in 1993. In
addition to his work with Second
City Chicago and Detroit, Levenson's
resume includes a wide swath of
experience: He scored the hit Comedy
Central series Strangers With
Candy; has written music for shows
on MTV, VH-1 and NBC; scored
productions at both Lincoln Center
and the Kennedy Center; and com-
posed music for David Sedaris' two
Off-Broadway shows and numerous
recording projects.
In the last few years, he has toured
the country with Stephen Colbert,
Amy Sedaris and Paul Dinello in their
production of Wigfield and scored
Carl Reiner's original children's album,
Tell Me a Scary Story, and the
Dr. Seuss CD series starring Kelsey
Grammer and Jason Alexander.
Michigan Impossible is presented
8 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays,
8 and 10 p.m. Fridays, 7 and 9 p.m.
Saturdays and 8 p.m. Sundays at the

DON'T MISS THE SECOND ANNUAL

Greenberg, 28, stars in the ABC
series October Road as Nick
Garrett, a popular author who tries
to get over his writer's block by
going back to his hometown. There,
he has to deal with friends and
family he has
long avoided.
He also discov-
ers that his
ex-girlfriend
(Laura Prepon)
may have had
his child. Road
premieres 10
p.m. Thursday,
March 15.
Jeff Goldblum
Greenberg,
who had a reli-
gious upbringing, is probably best
known for playing a cute Jewish
guy who has a fling with the much-
older Uma Thurman in the 2005
film Prime.

His mom, Denny (Barsdorf)
Greenberg is a former Oak Parker
who met Bryan's father, Carl, at
Wayne State University. The couple
moved to Omaha, Neb., where
Bryan was born, and now live in St.
Louis, Mo.
Prepon, the pretty co-star of
That '70s Show, has referred to
herself as "Jewish and Irish" in
some interviews. She hasn't made
it clear whether it is her mother
or her late father who was Jewish.
Many reports say that Prepon is a
practicing Scientologist.
Jeff Goldblum, 54, stars in the
NBC series Raines as Michael
Raines, an eccentric LAPD detec-
tive who has the ability to commu-
nicate with dead crime victims to
solve cases.
The series debuts 9 p.m.
Thursday, March 15. I
