That's what hap- pened Jan. 26; it was a new beginning for the Friendship Circle, with its first annual leadership conference. As I walked into the hospitable doors of the Friendship House on the Friendship Circle campus in West Bloomfield, I immediately felt at home. Knowing only the select volunteers from Michigan, I was at first a little uneasy. But after register- ing and grabbing bite to eat, I right away felt connected to each and every person in that room. Before that weekend, I had already felt incredibly linked to the organization itself. Not knowing it was possible, I found the Friendship Circle become an even more important part of my life. A new leadership club also was introduced this weekend. Nominations and voting were held by the volunteers to create officers for the club, and I was given the honor of becoming vice president. This club is now a network, a way to share creative and new ideas to further help children with special needs nationally street address city state zip email address I- l I would like to be contacted about special offers and/or sending a gift subscription mail to: Detroit Jewish News • PO Box 2267 • Southfield MI 48034-2267 DETROIT JEWISH NEWS Please allow 2-3 weeks to begin delivery.
