helped raise money with a friend for
cancer research.

volunteer with younger children at

She is the grandchild of Lila and
Elliott Schubiner, Nancy and Fred
Bernstein and Gerry Sakwa. She is
also the grandchild of the late Dr. Saul
Sakwa.
Sydney attends Cranbrook
Kingswood Middle School in
Bloomfield Hills. Her most meaningful
mitzvah project involved organizing a
bake sale with proceeds going to the
St. Jude Research Fund.

She is the daughter of Michele and
Christopher Thayer and the sister of
Brittnee and Branden. Her grandpar-
ents are Elaine Thayer, Sandy and Bill
Thayer and Ted Alpert. She is also the
grandchild of the late Barbara Alpert.
Her proud great-grandmother is Kay
Gore.
Rachel is a student at Walnut Creek
Middle School in Walled Lake. Her
most meaningful mitzvah project was
donating funds to the Susan G. Komen
Breast Cancer Foundation.
