Love That Art
Congregation B'nai Moshe will host
"For The Love Of Art" at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, Feb. 10.
The art preview begins at 7:30, and
the art auction at 8:30. Along with a
collection of Judaic and secular art,
there will be music and a dessert and
wine reception.
Tickets are $12 in advance and $20 at
the door. Complimentary babysitting is
available with advance registration.
Members will be able to "Take a
Second Look" from 9:30-noon Sunday,
Feb. 11, to purchase art. Coffee and
bagels will be served.

Teen Film
The Dove Institute and Temple Beth
El will show What Do You Think God
Looks Like? — a video by teens from
Ann Arbor's First United Methodist
Church.
Trained by David Crumm, Free Press
religion writer, the teens interviewed
their peers about their religious beliefs,
including teens from Temple Beth
El, Second Baptist Church in Detroit
and the Islamic Center of America in
Dearborn.
The teens were recently honored with
the Peacemaker Award from the World
Sabbath of Religious Reconciliation.
The film will be shown 6:30 p.m.
Sunday, Feb. 11, at Temple Beth El. The
public is invited and there is no charge.

Celebrating Winter
Congregation Shir Tikvah's winter
celebration, "Borscht Belt Bash: A New
York State of Mind:' will be held 7 p.m.
Saturday, Feb. 10, at the synagogue in
Troy.
The event will celebrate the heyday
of the Catskill Mountain resorts and
the Lower East Side. The evening will
feature Jewish foods and music, a silent
auction, comedy, a raffle and dancing.
Music will be provided by Shir Tikvah's
Schmaltz band and the Kids Klez Band.
Singer Cheryl Strebel also will enter-
tain.
Proceeds will go toward synagogue
programs and the Alyn Hospital for
children with disabilities in Israel. Cost

Trace Those Roots
Jim Grey. past president of the Jewish
Genealogical Society of Michigan, gives
an "Introduction to Genealogy: Tracing
Your Jewish Roots" at the meeting of
Congregation Shir Tikvah Sisterhood,
7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, at the syna-
gogue.
A business meeting will be at 7 p.m.
Dessert will follow the presentation.

the JGS. He is a member of the archives
committees of the Jewish Federation of
Metropolitan Detroit and Temple Israel.

Philadelphia-based Shalom Center,
will deliver two free talks in Ann
Arbor on Sunday, Feb. 11.
Rabbi Waskow is a leading voice

Matt is a scholar of
kabbalah and served
as professor of Jewish
spirituality at the
Graduate Theological
Union in Berkeley,
Calif. He will speak on "From Kabbalah
to the Big Bang: Ancient Wisdom and
Contemporary Spirituality" at 9:30 a.m.

the Big Bang: Discovering Harmony
Between Science and Spirituality!'
