ike a proud papa, hip hop legend MC Serch
ushered family members and friends into his
Oakland County home to see his new "baby"
— episode one of "The (White) Rapper Show," a new real-
ity series on VH1, hosted by Serch and co-produced by the
multimedia team Ego Trip. Serch, a member of Oakland
County-based Congregation Shaarey Zedek whose real
name is Michael Berrin, threw a premiere party on Jan.
7, the night before the show's national debut. As one of the
first white rappers in the country (he was the co-founder
of the group Third Bass in the late 1980s), Serch is hoping
the show will give viewers insight into the lyrical musi-
cal art form, which has been historically dominated by
African Americans.
