Shir Shalom. She is the grand-
daughter of Madeline Barkin, the late
Marvin Barkin, Cecille Kerner and
Leonard Kerner.
Alexis attends Berkshire Middle
School in Birmingham. Her mitzvah
project was making blankets to donate
to the oncology unit at Mott Hospital
in Ann Arbor.

is the daughter of

Jennifer. Proud grandparents are Saba
Holeman and Howard and Marian
Guttman.
Amanda is a student at Novi Middle
School. Her most meaningful mitzvah
project is her annual participation in
Adat Shalom's Housing the Homeless
Project.

Jacob Evan
Plotnik, son of
Julie and Steve
Plotnik and brother
of Jordyn, will
celebrate his bar
mitzvah as he leads

the congregation on
Friday, Jan. 19, at
Temple Israel. He is the grandson
of Donna and Allan Apple, Marykay
and Dr. Harold Plotnik, Judy and Herb
Rudman and the great-grandson of
very proud Morris "Andy" Weiss and
Lenore Dunsky-Weiss.
Jacob is a student at Derby Middle
School in Birmingham. His participa-
tion in the Lions Club's Leader Dog
Race for the Blind, where he helped at
the information booth, was the mitz-
vah project that was most meaningful
to him.

Hills. He felt it was very meaningful to
volunteer at Yad Ezra in Berkley as one
of his mitzvah projects.

of Bloomfield Hills and Ellie and Ted
Rubin of New York City.
Allie is a student at Berkshire
Middle School in Beverly Hills. Her
mitzvah project included volunteering
at Yad Ezra in Berkley.

Julia Shaye Simon

and Bruce Simon
and younger sister
of Blake. Her proud grandparents are
Edward and Josephine Simon and Ann
Bogrow. Julia is also the granddaugh-
ter of the late Harold Bogrow.
Julia attends Orchard Lake Middle
School in West Bloomfield. For her
mitzvah project, she volunteers at the
Friendship Circle in West Bloomfield,
as she loves working with younger
children.
