and Egypt Daniel C. Kurtzer will
appear 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, at
Kellogg Center Auditorium, 55 S.
Harrison Road, East Lansing.
The lecture and dessert recep-

and are sponsored by the Greater
Lansing Jewish Welfare Federation
and the Lester J. Morris Hillel
Jewish Student Center at Michigan
State University, with support from

Beth El Israel Talks
On Thursday and Friday, Jan.
25 and 26, Temple Beth El in
Bloomfield Township will host two
speakers presenting views on Israel
— author Zev Chafets and Pastor
Glenn Plummer.
Thursday's speaker, Chafets, was
born and raised in Pontiac, but
moved to Israel in
1967. The founding
managing editor of
the Jerusalem Report,
Chafets is a frequent
contributor to the

New York Times
Magazine. On Jan.
25, at 7 p.m. he will

Rev. Plummer
Evangelical Alliance.
Plummer is the
senior pastor of Ambassadors For
Christ Church and founded the
Christian Television Network. He
has visited and led tours to Israel
several times. At Shabbat services,
7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26, he will
discuss "Why I Support Israel and
Why Millions of African Americans
Will Also."
