Born in Philadelphia, she lived in Seabrook Village for the last five years, previously in Shadow Lake and Little Silver. She was a member of Congregation B'nai Israel of Rumson and its sisterhood and she served as chairperson of the edu- cation committee. She was also a member of Hadassah, the National Council of Jewish Women and B'nai B'rith. Mrs. Shapiro volunteered at the Red Bank Lunch Break, the Monmouth County Blood Bank and Riverview Hospital. She also served as a comptrol- ler at Ft. Monmouth, where she was the civil service representative for the Equal Opportunity Bowl. She was a former owner of Sharp Tire Co. in Red Bank.
