A. funeral isn't an ordinary circumstance. That's why we have an extraordinary website. 'Every Second Counts' Indeed, Missy illuminated the lives of her loved ones, even as her health diminished. Last March, she shared her passion for Israel with her husband and 8-year-old daugh- ter, Hannah, through a Chicago Jewish Federation Mission. Hannah said the experience was one of her favorite memories of her mom. Missy's devotion also extended to her large circle of friends, said her close confidant, LUNGevity Vice President Jill Feldman. When Feldman's daughter fell ill a few years ago, Missy was a tremendous support, cooking dinners for the family and making frequent hospi- tal visits. "Missy did all this while undergoing radiation for nine brain tumors," Feldman recalled. With courage, grace and dig- nity, Missy lived her life according to LUNGevity's mantra, "Every Second Counts," Feldman added. "Most parents think of them- selves as role models for their children:' remarked Missy's father, Edward Lumberg. "But for Sherri and me, Missy was our role model."
