ELI NATINSKY is at home in the fuel-injected world of
General Motors factory racing: The 33 year old from
Royal Oak handles marketing and public relations for
various sponsors of the Corvette Racing team. The
GM-owned team competes in the American Le Mans
Series at tracks across the U.S. and Canada — and
has a winning record in international auto racing.
"I've always been drawn to the entertainment indus-
try," says Natinksky. "And motorsports definitely falls
into that category." Natinsky has also handled PR for
the E85 FlexFuel Chevy Silverado, an environmen-
tally friendlier truck, in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck
Series. "Those events draw tens of thousands of fans
and the drivers are huge celebrities," Natinsky says.
"It's rewarding to be in a field that provides so much
enjoyment to others." In the new year, Natinsky will
be shifting gears, working as a project manager for
TMG Sports Marketing in Auburn Hills. Here, we ask
him our version of the Four Questions.

WHAT BOOK, CD, MOVIE OR OTHER MEDIA
ARE YOU LONGING TO SHARE WITH OTHERS?
One of my favorite movies is Alfred
Hitchcock's Rear Window, starring James Stewart
and Grace Kelly. The 1954 movie is a classic thriller
about a neighbor who witnesses a murder through
his apartment's rear window. It combines several
different elements — comedy, drama, romance
and suspense. I also love John Coltrane's A Love
Supreme. He was a jazz saxophonist and composer
and the album is a four-part suite to his faith.

IF YOU COULD HAVE BRUNCH WITH
ONE BIBLICAL OR HISTORICAL JEWISH
FIGURE, WHO WOULD IT BE?
I admire Jews who have chosen a career in public
service — including the late U.S. Senator Paul
Wellstone [Minnesota], U.S. Senator Russ Feingold
[Wisconsin] and here in Michigan, U.S. Senator
Carl Levin and U.S. Representative Sander Levin.
I'd like to have brunch with any of these men.
They've all been progressive, bipartisan and have
brought a great deal of dignity and honor to their
offices.

and why?

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE JEWISH FOOD?
Latkes! They remind me of family's
Chanukah parties when I was young. My
mother is one of 10 children and the whole family
would gather every year for a very large celebration.
My grandmother would always cook the crispy fried
potato pancakes — but my uncle has since taken
over "latke duty"

4

WHAT WOULD PEOPLE BE SURPRISED
TO KNOW ABOUT YOU?
I worked as a production assistant on the
movie Out of Sight, starring George Clooney and
Jennifer Lopez and based on a book by Elmore
Leonard, who lives in the Detroit area. Parts of the
story were filmed right here in Detroit in the fall
of 1997: Locations included Detroit police head-
quarters, the State Theatre and the Kronk Gym.
I assembled welcoming materials for the cast and
crew, helped with hotel arrangements and acted
as a "local guide" to the production team, most of
whom were from out of town. I met both Clooney
and Lopez and found them to be very friendly and
personable stars.
