culture. We have the same concerns
regarding what our nation is doing in
the Middle East and our support of
Israel."
Rabbi Berkun has met with Pastor
Plummer and Bishop Butler and says
he has seen from them and others
the love of Christians for Jews and the
Jewish state.
"Jews should go to learn about how
a significant portion of the American
population perceives the State of
Israel': Rabbi Berkun says. "America
is the greatest friend Israel has today,
and a lot of that support comes from
the evangelical Christian community.
"I think their friendship is worth
exploring," he adds. "They're hold-
ing out their hands out and saying,
want to be your friend. We should
let them know who we are, what
we are about, and what we believe
and stand for. We should let them
know their friendship and support
of Israel does not go unnoticed and
unappreciated:'
