Rob Cohon of West Bloomfield has
been elected to the 2007 board of direc-
tors for Cityscape Detroit. It is the city's
oldest non-profit organization devoted
to advocacy for historic preservation,
transportation issues and general
political support for developments
during government hearings. It often
provides a forum for panel discussion
and lectures.

Beth Grossman of Farmington Hills
has become regional sales manager for
Guaranteed Rate Mortgage on 12 Mile
in Southfield. She has 28 years' experi-

Barris Trial Competition. They each
received a $500 scholarship and will
move on to compete with the STAP

Siegmund, associate professor of history
and Judaic studies, has been awarded the
Herbert Baxter Adams Prize in European
history for 2006 by the American
Historical Association for her book

(Stanford University Press, 2006).

Citizen of the Year,
recognizing his
contributions as a
family man, a vet-

nity volunteer. He was a machinist mate
on the USS Smalley during the Korean
War and has lived in Southfield for 44
years. Among his affiliations are the
Jewish War Veterans, Veterans of Foreign
Wars, Southfield Veterans Organization
and being a board member of the advi-
sory council of the National Cemetery
in Holly.

dent of Pro Mozart
Society of Greater
Detroit. Leila
Stollman of West

elected treasurer

ing secretary. Pro Mozart Society of
Greater Detroit was founded by the
late Marguerite Kozenn Chajes in
1959 for the purpose of promoting the
music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
and furthering educational and cultural
services.

William Lansat of Farmington Hills,
attorney and of counsel to the firm of
Schnelz, Wells in Birmingham, has been
reappointed by Gov. Jennifer Granholm
to the governor's task force on children's
justice. He has served on the task force
since 2000.

The Great Lakes Yacht Club of St. Clair
Shores elected bridge officers for the
2007 season. Elected were commodore,
Paul Nida of West Bloomfield; vice
commodore, Merryl Schwartz of
West Bloomfield; rear commodore,
Mickey Bennett of West Bloomfield;
treasurer, Arthur Golumbia of West
Bloomfield; secretary, Bruce Goldman
of Southfield.
