Let There Be Light Temple Israel will join the Coalition on the Environment and Jewish Life (COEJL) to install compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulbs dur- ing Chanukah. On Friday, Dec. 8, during the temple's 7:30 p.m. Shabbat services, Rabbi Paul Yedwab will present information about COEJL's CFL bulb campaign, designed to con- serve energy, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote energy legislation. CFLs use up to 75 percent less energy than regular bulbs, while lasting seven to 10 times longer. The average CFL will save at least $25 in energy costs over the life- time of the bulb.
