Sometimes it really is better

give than to receive. BY SHELLI LIEBMAN DORFMAN

From clothing and food to jewelry and art, gifts can do double time when their purchase
also benefits those in need. National and local retailers are highlighting holiday gift items that will both
thrill those who unwrap them and include a donation from sales to charitable organizations.

Uncenso(Red): Chris Rock models a
Gap jean jacket ($150).Chances are
you're not going to get through the
holiday shopping season without at
least one stop at the Gap. So, a look at
the (Product) Red line should involve
just a simple veer toward the red dis-
play. The project — co-founded by U2
lead singer Bono, Bobby Shriver of the
Kennedy-Shriver family and Dr. Richard
Feachem, executive director of the
Global Fund to Fight HIV-AIDs, Malaria
and Tuberculosis — will donate half
its collection's profits to support the
Global Fund's HIV-AlDs prevention pro-
grams in Africa. The collection includes
women's wear from Bo(Red) tanks
($28) and Desi(Red) v-neck tees ($28)
to cashmere hoodies ($265.00); men's
items from raw-edge tees ($28) to jean
jackets ($148); unisex belts ($29.50-
$40); and the Sha(Red) candle ($20),
in red only. Available at Gap stores and
gap.com .
