Eye On Terror

Lebanese-born author
traces radical Islam.

B

rigitte Gabriel, a Lebanese-
born author and journalist -
who lectures internation-
ally about terrorism and is a regular
guest on TV news and radio shows,
will appear 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, at .
the Holocaust Memorial Center in
Farmington Hills.
Gabriel is one of the Mideast experts
featured in the HonestReporting.com
documentary film Obsession and in
Glenn Beck's CNN special Radical
Islam Exposed.
Her just-released book, Because
They Hate: A Survivor of Islamic
Terror Warns
America, is
a memoir of
her family's
experiences
as Christians
during the
Lebanese Civil
War. For seven
years,
she and
Brigitte Gabriel
her parents
were forced to
live in an underground bomb shelter
with no running water or electric-
ity. They subsisted on little food. She
credits Israeli doctors with saving her
mother during the war, a turning point
in her life that left her with a profound
admiration of the Jewish homeland.

She warns that the West is threatened
by the same fundamentalist Islamic
theology that has ravaged her home
country.
Gabriel was a news anchor for World
News, an Arabic news show on Middle
East Television. She immigrated to the
U.S. in 1989 and started a TV produc-
tion and advertising company. After
9-11, she founded American Congress
for Truth.org , a nonprofit dedicated to
educating Americans about the threat
of radical Islam. E'
