A Holocaust survivor, she became a kosher caterer and provided for private parties, bar and bat i lkow mitzvahs. A court reporter for the Macomb County prosecutor's office, Mrs. Jacobs was a member of the National Council of Jewish Women, Temple Emanu-El and its sisterhood. She is survived by sons and a daugh- ter-in-law, Mark and Barbara Jacobs of Huntington Woods, Dr. Jonathan Jacobs of Bloomfield Hills; daughter and son-in-law, Janet Jacobs Walt and John Walt of Beverly Hills; grandchildren, Amanda, David, Michael, Joey and Leah Jacobs, Jack and Aaron Walt; compan- ion, Herschel Harris of Birmingham. RICHARD ALLEN KAHN, 80, of Southfield, died Nov. 23, 2006. He was the owner of Richard's Boys and Girls Wear, founded in 1940 by his father and expanded to 11 stores. A Navy veteran of World War II, he served on the U.S.S. Mobile. Mr. Kahn was past chairman of the Mercantile Division of the Allied Jewish Campaign and was an active member of the Detroit Tennis and Squash Club, having started playing ten- Kahn nis when he was a child. He became an avid player, playing singles 3-4 times a week, until he was 79. A lifetime member of the University of Michigan Alumni Association, he went to 400 U of M football games and numerous basketball games. He was a longtime season ticket holder of the Detroit Pistons and the Detroit Lions. Mr. Kahn is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Harlan and Cayn Kahn of Highland Park, Ill.; daughters and sons-in-law, Liz and Dr. Barry Leshman of Huntington Woods, Emily and Ross Emmerman of Chicago; grandchildren, Reid and Jocelyn Kahn, Joey, Jessica and Drew Leshman, Max and Natalie Emmerman; sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Brewster Broder of Farmington Hills; sister-in- law and brother-in-law, Sue and Doug Moss; special friend, Barbara Cooper.
