Ethan Benjamin Mendelson was called to the Torah as a bar mitzvah Saturday, Oct. 21, at the Shul. He is the brother of Alicia and Avery Mendelson Mendelson, step- brother of Tal and Ben Goutkovitch, son of David Mendelson and Susan Goutkovitch and stepson of Coby Goutkovitch. He is the grandson of Carole Master and the late Eli Master, Adrienne Mendelson and the late Alan Mendelson. Ethan is a seventh-grader at Hillel Day School of Metropolitan Detroit in Farmington Hills. His mitzvah project was advocating for a SMART bus shelter at Northwestern Highway/Orchard Lake Road/14 Mile Road, for which he was awarded a proclamation from State Rep. Aldo Vagnosi. Jessica Nicole Silber will read from the Torah as she celebrates her bat mitzvah Saturday, Nov. 25, at Adat Shalom Synagogue.
