Cancer and Nutrition
A free lecture on "Cancer and Nutrition: Fuel for Life" by LaDonna Hinch,
a dietician at the Detroit-based Karmanos Cancer Institute, will take place
6:30-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, at the Weisberg Cancer Treatment
Center, 31995 Northwestern Hwy., Farmington Hills. She will speak on the
importance of nourishment after cancer treatment as well as how cancer
survivors can maintain good nutritional health.
Another free lecture, "Cancer and the Family: A Parent's Guide to Talking
with Their Children," by clinical social worker Peter Wolf, will take place
7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, at the Northwest Activities Center (the
former Jewish Community Center), 18100 Meyers, Detroit.
Sponsored by Karmanos' Survivorship University (SU) program, the
lectures are open to all. SU was created in 2005 to provide patients, survivors, caregivers, fam-
