who wasn't Jewish, was a doctor
and a Labour Party Member of

the title that
Christopher

1996.

this columnist
Guest and Jamie
reveals that
Lee Curtis
Guest's pater-
nal grandmother, Muriel Carmel
Goldsmid, was a bohemian leftist
who came from a famous English
- Jewish family (an ancestor was
the first practicing Jew to be
given a British noble title). Muriel's
father, Col. Albert Goldsmid, was
a friend of Theodore Herzl and a
very important early supporter of
Zionism.
Guest and actress Jamie Lee
Curtis have been married since
1984 and have two children. Jamie,
the daughter of actor Tony Curtis,
usually refers to herself simply as
"Jewish" (even though her mother,
Janet Leigh, wasn't Jewish) and
says that her family celebrates
Chanukah.
