Dessert And Dialogue
On behalf of the American Committee for the Weizmann Institute of
Science Michigan Region, Enid Barden and Aaron Jade hosted an event
Oct. 18 at the Franklin Hills Country Club. Professor Joel Sussman from

Heritage Night Event
Daniel Cohen and Immanuel Miller, both 18-year-old Israelis, are spend-
ing a year of community service in the U.S. prior to Israeli army service.
Both have been counselors at Camp Tamarack. Recently, they spent an
evening with 50 B'nai B'rith Youth Organization members for a Jewish
Heritage Night program about Israeli life. They shared their own life sto-
ries, using Israeli music, film and some interactive exercises to expand
the local teens' understanding of life in Israel. Shown are Daniel Cohen of

BEATRICE BENJAMIN, 95, of
Southfield, died Nov. 12, 2006. She was a
past president of Women's American ORT
and a lifetime member of Hadassah and
Bechar Shalom.
Mrs. Benjamin is survived by her son
and daughter-in-law, Harold and Marilyn
Peritz of Southfield; daughter, Judith
Trotsky of West Bloomfield; sister-in-law,
Anne Radner; grandchildren, Michael
and Marie Trotsky, Susan Trotsky, Jeffrey
Crilley, Lori and Michael Kwolek, Julie and
Gary Nitzkin; great-grandchildren, Jason,
Andrew, Rachel, Jonah; cousins, nieces
and nephews, other family members
and friends. She was the beloved wife of
the late Leonard Peritz, the late Sidney
Benjamin; loving mother-in-law of the late
Dr. Martin Trotsky; dear sister of the late
Leonard Radner, the late Ralph Radner;
dear sister-in-law of the late Sally Radner.

NORMAN EPSTEIN, 69, of West.
Bloomfield, died Nov. 9, 2006.
He is survived by his wife, Deena
Epstein; daughters and sons-in-law,
Jennifer and Saul Rube of Oak Park,
Deborah and Jeff Rubin of West
Bloomfield; sisters-in-law, Bea Epstein,
Bobbie De Frank; grandchildren, Jay
Rubin, Rachel Rubin, Brad Rubin; many
nieces, great-nieces, great-nephews and a
world of friends.

EDWIN "EDDIE" ESKOVITZ, 71, of
Oak Park, died Nov. 12, 2006.
He is survived by his nieces and nephews,
Sandy, Mark, Steven, Sandra, Alan, Kenneth,
Karen, Aaron and Heidi; great- nieces and
great-nephews and many other loving fam-
ily members and friends. He was the dear
brother of the late Fred Eskovitz, the late
Harold Eskovitz, the late Rudy Eskovitz and
the late Alice Silberberg.
Interment at Adat Shalom Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to the Jewish
Prentis Apartments or to a charity of one's
choice. Arrangements by Dorfman Chapel.

PHILIP M. FISHER, 88, of Bloomfield
Hills, died Nov. 12, 2006. He was secretary-
treasurer for Metropolitan Savings Bank. He
was also a member of Temple Beth El and a
youth adviser known to
everyone as "Uncle Phil",
a member of the Kiwanis
Club and he was in the
Eighth Air Force during
World War II.
Mr. Fisher is survived
by his wife, Audrey Fisher;
daughters and son-in-

Barbara Fisher of Washington Township;
son and daughter-in-law, Robert L. Fisher
and Marcy Heller-Fisher of Bloomfield Hills;

Benjamin, Gabriel and Abigail Fisher and
Jeffrey Fortuna; brother, Frederick Fisher of
Arizona; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law,
Helen and Irwin Glasser, James and Rita
Golden. He was the loving brother of the
late Janice Silverman; dear brother-in-law of
the late Sadelle and the late Arthur Hessler,
the late Eileen Fisher and the late Seymour
Silverman.
Interment at Beth El Memorial Park.

LT. COLONEL LESLIE LEONARD
FLEISHER, 91, of Coconut Grove, Fla., for-
merly of Michigan, died Nov. 11, 2006.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Fleisher;
daughter and son-in-law, Riki and Jerome
Shaw; son, Robert Fleisher; grandchild, Sloan
Schaffer; son-in-law, Peter Schaffer; sisters,
Helen Zuckerman and Maryan Abramsohn.
He was the beloved brother of the late
Dorothy Buten, the late Madelyn Cottler and
the late Bernice Kane.
