She is the daughter of Dr. Phyllis Indianer and Alan and Heather. Rosen, and the sister of Seth. Elana is delighted to have her grandpar- ents, Rita Rosen and Helen and Simon Indianer join in this special event. Elana is also the sister of the late Samantha Erin Rosen and the granddaughter of the late Melvin Rosen. Elana, a student at Berkshire Middle School in Beverly Hills, actively participates in the Madrichim program at Temple Shir Shalom. Katie Layne Young will read from the Torah at her bat mitzvah dur- ing Havdalah services Saturday, Young Nov. 18, at Temple Israel. She is the daugh- ter of Mindy and Dr. Joel Young and the sister of Ben and Emily. Her proud grandparents are Phyllis and David Young and Norma and Phillip Layne. Attending West Hills Middle School in Bloomfield Hills, Katie felt volunteering at the food bank of Yad Ezra in Berkley was a very meaningful mitzvah project.
