An Aid To Give Thanks
As the Thanksgiving holiday nears,
the American Jewish Committee
Metropolitan Detroit Chapter
will offer America's Table®: A
Thanksgiving Reader, which may
be downloaded for free at
www.americastable.org.
America's Table is an AJC initia-
tive recognizing the importance of
all Americans. Community leaders
representing a variety of ethnic and
faith groups are profiled each year,
recalling how their distinct back-
grounds, struggles and triumphs
link them as Americans.
This year, the Thanksgiving
Reader will be utilized and dis-
tributed to attendees of three
community programs. Marygrove
College in Detroit will host a lun-
cheon program noon Thursday,
Nov. 16, in Alumni Hall. Madonna
University in Livonia will use the
Thanksgiving Reader at a pro-
gram 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 16,
in the main campus dining hall.
Troy's Interfaith Community
Group will host a Thanksgiving
service and distribute the
Thanksgiving Readers 7 p.m.
Sunday, Nov. 19, at the Big Beaver
United Methodist Church, 3753
John R in Troy. Participants will
tell personal stories of coming to
America or of moving to Troy.
Contact the AJC office, (248) 646-
7686, or e-mail Detroit@ajc.org .
