Steve Morris of
West Bloomfield,
a principal at
GVA Strategis, a
Southfield broker-
age and consult-
ing firm, was the
keynote speaker at
Morris
the fall Michigan
Association of CPAs,
where he presented "Emerging Real
Estate Trends in the Office, Industrial
and Retail Sector in Michigan."

A Dominican nun, born in Germany
to a family that helped feed and shelter
Jewish families in World War II, has
been honored by the University of
Michigan. Sister Luise Radlmeier
received the 16th Raoul Wallenberg
Medal on Oct. 5. She has worked in
Africa since 1956. From her base in
northern Keya, Sister Radlmeier helps
refugees from throughout East Africa,
especially Sudanese youth. Wallenberg
was a Swede who graduated from the
U-M College of Architecture in 1935. In
1944, the Swedish Foreign Ministry sent
him on a rescue mission to Budapest
where he saved 100,000 Jewish lives.

Dr. Robert D. Ross of Bloomfield
Hills was again honored by Hour
Detroit Magazine and WDIV Channel
4 as one of the "Top Docs" in Metro
Detroit. Dr. Ross is a pediatric cardiolo-
gist at Children's Hospital of Michigan,
professor of pediatrics and member
of the Academic Senate at Wayne State
University School of Medicine and
Children's Hospital of Michigan's direc-
tor of fellowship programs. In February,
Dr. Ross will lead the fourth Variety
Children's International Heart Mission
to the Dominican Republic.

Jeremy Baruch, a junior at the
University of Michigan, was awarded the
Hopwood Award 2006 in recognition of
his poetry collection, Privacy.

Dr. George Mogill, a family physi-
cian in Detroit, received the Exemplary
Teaching Award from the American
Academy of Family Physicians at its
annual meeting in Washington, D.C. He
was one of four family physicians recog-
nized for his teaching skills, implement-
ing outstanding programs and develop-
ing innovative teaching models.

as Federation's
nominees for the
2006 Distinguished
Volunteers by
the Association
of Fundraising
Professionals' (AFP)
on its National
Grosfeld
Philanthropy Day,
Nov. 16, at the
Dearborn Inn. Grosfeld is a registered
nurse and social worker by training,
a "career volunteer" by choice. She is
president-elect of the Jewish Federation
of Metropolitan Detroit, co-chair of
Federation's 2006 Annual Campaign
and a trustee of the Jewish Women's
Foundation. The consummate volunteer,
Hart currently is chair of the Jewish
Women's Foundation. Hart serves on
the board of governors of the Jewish
Federation of Metropolitan Detroit and
the executive committee of Federation's
Affiance for Jewish Education. She is
