This page: An assortment of baskets handcrafted by artist

Karen Fenwick is rife with organic embellishments, such

as Danish cord, wooden beads, jacaranda pods, philo-

dendron sheath and crushed gemstones. Opposite page,

clockwise from top: Leather dye gives Fenwick's gourds

their vibrant gem-like hues. Dichroic glass is chip-carved

and inlaid into a gourd. The artistls inspired by nature.

AgVe stones are woven into_the pine needles of one

basket (top) while walnuts puiictuate another (bottom). ---
