The Bitmingham Temple Forum

In Honor of National Book Month

Three new exciting books dramatize three wars — the war against terrorism, the
`war' against immigration, and the war against the Indians. And a local author visits

the temple to describe a more personal war — the war to lead a meaningful life

after a diagnosis of autism or Asperger's Syndrome.

ASPERGER'S AND ME

Presentation by Nick Dubin

Place: )CC West Bloomfield (15 Mile Road / Drake Road)
Date: Tuesday, November 21; 2006; lime: 7:00 - 8:30 pm
(casual attire)

Our MC's, DYs, and Dance Class Staff, will be on hand to
show how we've been making learning fun for over 50 years!

Nick Dubin has become one of the foremost experts on autism and Asperger's Syndrome in
Southeast Lower Michigan in the past two years. Since receiving a diagnosis of Asperger's in
2004, he has given speeches at the local, state and national level. He has written two
published books and three published DVD's, all on issues relating to the Autism Spectrum.
His most passionate subject is bullying prevention, which he has written about extensively.
Mr. Dubin will talk about his journey from receiving his diagnosis to the work he is pursuing
today as a doctoral candidate in psychology. As a former Birmingham Temple member since
1986, his first public speaking experience was in the sanctuary for his Bar Mitzvah in 1991. He
looks forward to returning to the temple.
