Department of Political Science, leads
a special pre-concert lecture prior to the
final performance of the Kirov Orchestra
featuring Shostakovichis Symphony
No. 13 in b-flat minor, Op. 113 ("Babi Yar").
This historic composition memorializes
the Russian Jews killed at Babi Yar during
World War II.

A collaboration with the U-M Center
for Russian and East European Studies.

The Shostakovich Centennial Weekend is presented
with support from Kaydon Corp. and the
Maxine and Stuart Frankel Foundation.
