EUGENE ROBERTS, 83, Roslyn, Long Island, N.Y., died June 29, 2006. He was a teacher and co-founder of Robin Hood Country Day School. He was known as "Uncle Gene" to genera- tions of summer campers, nursery children and college students. He died hours before the opening of the 49th summer camp season. Robin Hood was a family camp. Roberts emigrated here from Transylvania with his family in 1923. He put himself through college, mar- ried Paula Roberts; attended City College and was drafted into the army in 1944. After returning home, he attended New York University and received a master's degree in education. He was an elementary school principal and a professor of education at many col- leges. Mr. Roberts is survived by his wife, Paula; children, Kathie Lieberman, Glenn Roberts, Laurie Karol, Michael Roberts, all of New York, Debra Roberts and David Morrison of Huntington Woods; 15 grandchildren. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. JACK SCHON, 81, of Bloomfield Hills, died Sept. 19, 2006. He was an attorney and partner in the firm of Polk, Ginsberg and Schon. He was also a member and past president of Congregation Beth Ahm and its council, a past president of the Jewish Home for Aged, a past Schon president of Tam O'Shanter Country Club and a member of the Michigan and American bar associations. Mr. Schon is survived by his wife, Florence Schon; daughters and son- in-law, Laura and Richard Schiller of Southfield, Joyce Schon of Detroit; son, David Schon of Washington, D.C.; grandchildren, Rachel Schiller, Emily Schiller and Erica Schiller; brother- in-law and sister-in-law, Seymour and Norma Lankowsky. He was the loving father of the late Allan H. Schon; dear brother of the late Isadore Schon, the late William Schon, the late Sylvia Dubin. Interment at Machpelah Cemetery.
