The Anti-Defamation League has
appointed Sharone Bigelman as
director of development and Carrie
Waggoner as assistant director.
Bigelman is a 2005 graduate of
the Michigan Political Leadership
Program. Waggoner was an ADL
intern in January 2005 and a staff
associate as of May.

Election Forum
The National Council of Jewish
Women Greater Detroit Section and
the Jewish Community Council of
Metropolitan Detroit will present a
program on issues facing Michigan
voters in the November elections.
At 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3, at Adat
Shalom Synagogue in Farmington
Hills, Detroit Free Press columnist
Brian Dickerson will moderate an
issues forum involving three ballot
proposals, including the so-called
"California Proposal," which would
ban all state-sponsored affirmative
action programs.
The Oct. 3 event is offered at no
charge.

Bloomfield will host a four-week
divorce support program for chil-
dren ages 5-17, titled HUGS: Hope,
Understanding, Growth, Strength.
Meetings will be held on
Thursdays from 4-5 p.m., beginning
Oct. 19 at Temple Israel.
HUGS will help children get the
skills they need to better cope with
their parents' divorce. Children will
be divided into age-appropriate
groups, and a separate group for
parents will meet at the same time.
HUGS is open to the community
free of charge.
