Denomination: Conservative
Membership:15 to 25 regulars and more than 500 contributing families.

Services: Saturday morning and holiday services, with an occasional Friday
night oneg Shabbat (Shabbat celebration). Affiliated with Hillel of Metro Detroit.
Programs and connections: Hosts regular community events.
Clergy: Cantor Usher Adler, cantorial soloist Neil Barris.
History: The only full-time congregation in Detroit, the synagogue evolved from

the Isaac Agree Memorial Society established in 1921, moving to its current

location in 1939.
Future: The congregation has plans to remain in its present location, working to

grow with Detroit's Jewish community of residents and workers.

Bet Chaverim

Location: Canton
Denomination: Reform
Services: Third Friday of each month, annual student service.

School: Religious school
Programs: Fundraising events, mitzvah projects, monthly play groups, youth
group, Shabbat potluck dinners.
Clergy: Rabbi Peter Gluck, cantorial soloist Robin Liberatore
History: Serving Jewish and interfaith families in western Wayne County, the

congregation was incorporated in 1994, with services and a religious school.

Acquired a full-size Torah in 2000.

Grosse Pointe Jewish Council

Location: Grosse Pointe
Denomination: Independent
Membership: 150 households
Programs: Social, cultural, educational, religious activities include lectures,

holiday and family parties, book, gourmet and men's and women's clubs,
